Integrating FTP with Cloud Services on Mac: Seamless or Siloed Experiences?
What ended up working way better for me was treating everything more like local drives instead of bouncing between apps. I started using ftp for mac through something like CloudMounter, and honestly, it’s made a noticeable difference in my daily workflow. Mounting the FTP server (plus SFTP when needed) right into Finder alongside my other clouds means no more separate windows or weird drag glitches. It’s not perfect—sometimes transfers feel a tad slower on bigger folders—but overall it cuts down on the mental juggling. I like how it keeps things simple without forcing me into yet another full-featured client that overcomplicates stuff. Just feels more natural for someone who isn’t doing hardcore server admin every day.
