Study in Ireland for Indian Students – Education, Cost & More
Ireland is one of the top global educational hubs, thus many Indian students choose it as their study abroad destination. The nation is a part of the European Union (EU), and it provides talented workers with excellent career chances.
Are you interested in learning how to enable study in Ireland for Indian students? If you have all the necessary knowledge, it is not as overwhelming as it may seem.
Irish Education System
Children in Ireland must attend school from the time they are six years old until they are sixteen, or until they have completed at least three years of secondary education. There are primary, secondary, third, and higher education levels in the educational system.
Unless children choose private schools, public education is accessible across the board. Private organisations and facilities offer pre-school instruction. Ireland's ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) programme guarantees free early education and daycare.
Here are some examples of the educational levels:
First level
Up until the age of six, children are not required to attend school. They may, however, start attending school in September after turning four. Although primary schools are often privately owned, the government subsidise them.
Second level
If the optional year of transition is chosen following the JCPA (Junior Cycle or Certificate) examination, it spans a three-year junior stage and a two- to three-year senior stage. The junior cycle starts at the age of 12, and the test is given three years later.
Third-level
Students travel here to attend universities, independent private colleges, or colleges for teachers. In addition to self-governing/autonomous universities that offer doctoral, master's, and undergraduate degrees, there are also technological universities, institutes of technology, etc. that offer these degrees.
