Another thing to consider is natural light - the more windows and skylights, the better! It really brightens up the space and makes it feel more welcoming. On the flip side, I would avoid having too many doors or walls that break up the flow of the house. One thing I wish I had included in my own build is a mudroom or drop zone near the entrance. It's so convenient to have a place to put shoes, coats, and bags as soon as you walk in the door. Overall, just make sure the design works for your specific needs and lifestyle.
