Three Seoul baseball teams discuss stadium advertising fees with city council members

Meeting between Seoul City Council members and representatives of three KBO teams

Representatives from three professional baseball teams with ties to Seoul met with Seoul City Council members to discuss current issues.

Seven lawmakers from the Seoul Metropolitan Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee visited Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, where the Doosan Bears-LG Twins game was played on Aug. 31, and held a meeting with KBO President Heo Koo-yeon, Doosan Bears CEO Jeon Pung, LG Twins CEO Kim In-seok and Kiwoom Heroes CEO Wee Jae-min to discuss the industrialization of professional baseball, the KBO secretariat said on Aug. 1.

Heo said that the teams have contributed to the public interest, including the healthy leisure use of Seoul residents and the revitalization of the local economy through professional baseball, despite the difficult financial situation of the clubs with a chronic deficit structure for 42 years, and expected Seoul lawmakers to enact and revise policies and related ordinances through a public good approach.

The three Seoul clubs explained the difficult realities of private contracting under the city's ordinances, such as baseball stadium advertising fees, and requested the city council's support for improving the revenue structure of the clubs to improve player performance and invest in fan services, 사설토토 including improving the environment for baseball stadium contracts based on the Enforcement Decree of the Sports Industry Promotion Act of 2016.
