Asia Pioneer Entertainment Limited expected to post

Macao and electronic gaming console powerhouse Asia Pioneer Entertainment Limited has reportedly announced that it expects to announce soon that total revenue will fall more than 80% year-over-year to about $971,200.

The Hong Kong-listed company said Friday it had grossed just over $5.17 million for all , using official filings, but had been hit hard by the negative impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to a report from Asian Games Brief. Sources detailed the Macau-based company's 12-month gross profit of about $1.34 million, representing a 63.2% slump compared with the previous year's tally of nearly $3.65 million.

Asia Pioneer Entertainment Limited reportedly reported that at approximately $958,300, most of last year's revenue is expected to come from its electronic game console sales and distribution business, which is now down approximately 86.4% year over year. The region's tycoon then noted that total revenue from technical services and consulting activities is expected to fall 27.2%, and total revenue generated from the repair business is expected to plummet 38.4%.

As the Company is still in the process of confirming its performance for the year, the announcement is based solely on the Company's pre-evaluation of the Company's management based on information currently available to the Board of Directors and the unaudited consolidated management accounts of the Group for the year that have not been reviewed or audited by the Company's independent auditors

However, Tony Chan, executive director of the game console company founded in 2006, reportedly revealed that he expects the company's new smart vending business to bring in a total revenue of about $19,000. Management also noted that the company is using its recent coronavirus-induced slowdown to explore "opportunities at the metaverse" for travelers to explore and interact with many integrated casino resorts in Macau before leaving home.

Chan was reluctant to elaborate further on the company's future plans due to disclosure rules for Hong Kong-listed companies, but Asia Gaming Brief reported that the metaverse product being envisioned is likely to focus on leisure aspects of the land-based casino market rather than providing direct online betting or gambling services.
