Kiwoom manager Hong Won-ki "Lee Jung-hoo to play as a substitute today after recovering from injury"

"I plan to play defense for an inning" in final home game of the season

Kiwoom Heroes slugger Lee Jung-hoo will make his comeback in the final home game of the season.

Kiwoom will face the Samsung Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Gocheok SkyDome.

With 57 wins, three draws and 81 losses on the season, Kiwoom is in last place. Kiwoom has three games remaining this season. Even with a sweep, they are not guaranteed to escape the bottom of the standings.

Kiwoom lost ace Ahn Woo-jin and the KBO's best hitter Lee Jung-hoo to injuries this year. Substitute foreign pitcher Ian McKinney has also been disappointing.

Manager Hong Won-ki called up Lee Jung-hoo for the final home game. Lee underwent ankle surgery on July 22 against the Lotte Giants and will be playing for the first time in 80 days.

Hong said, "I'm a little concerned, but he says he's fine. I'm thinking of sending him out for one at-bat today. We have a defense plan for about one inning," said Hong. "Lee Jung-hoo's rehabilitation has gone well, and since it's his last home game, I think it would be good to greet the fans."

Lee's status for the next two away games is still unclear.

Kim Hye-sung, who is in the race for the most runs, said, "I promised to give my all in the remaining three games after winning the Asian Games gold medal. I'm batting first today. Even one more at-bat will give me an advantage in the race for the top spot."

The starting pitchers for the remaining games have also been finalized. Left-hander Lee Jong-min will start against the KIA Tigers on the 11th, and the team will send Ariel Furado, the team's winningest pitcher, out for the final game against the SSG Landers on the 14th. 토토사이트
