Billiards player Myung-Woo Myung rises to No. 1 in the world rankings

Korean billiards star Myung-woo Myung (Seoul City Hall, Silk Road C&T) has risen to No. 1 in the world rankings.

Cho Myung-woo earned 358 points in the 29th UMB ranking announced by the World Chrome Billiards Federation (UMB) on the 31st (Korean time) and ranked first.

Cho Myung-woo ranked 13th at the 2023 Begel World 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup, adding 18 ranking points, beating Marco Zanetti (Italy) with 357 points by 1 point.

Cho Myung-woo has been on a roll since winning the Egyptian 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup in December last year.

He steadily accumulated points by winning a series of prizes, including winning the 3-cushion Asian Carom Championship held in Yanggu, Gangwon-do in March of this year, runner-up at the Ho Chi Minh 3-cushion Billiards World Cup in May, and 3rd place at the Ankara 3-cushion Billiards World Cup in September.

As a result, Cho Myung-woo became the first Korean player to be ranked No. 1 in the world in 8 years and 6 months since Choi Seong-won ranked No. 1 on April 4, 2015.

Cho Myung-woo will challenge to maintain the top ranking at the 2023 Seoul 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup, which will be held at the Taereung Athletes' Village in Seoul from November 6th to 12th.
