Professional basketball team Wonju DB came from behind to beat Hyundai Mobis in Ulsan, extending its winning streak to six games.
DB won 90-79 against Hyundai Mobis in the 2023-2024 Jeonggwanjang Professional Basketball League away game at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium at 2 p.m. on Friday.
With the win, DB increased its winning streak to six games without a single loss since the start of the season.
Hyundai Mobis, on the other hand, tried to close the gap with leader DB at home, but failed.
DB's Dedrick Lawson led the way with a 36-point, 11-rebound double-double.
He was supported by Lee Sun Albano and Kim Jong-gyu with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
For Hyundai Mobis, Lee Woo-seok and Gage Prim struggled with 19 and 18 points, respectively, but couldn't get the win. Prim, in particular, was ejected in the final minutes of the game.
The game started with Hyundai Mobis dominating the early going. Lee Woo-seok scored 11 points in the first quarter alone, while Gage Prim and Kim Kook-chan each had six points.
DB scored a lot of points in the second quarter, led by 12 and 9 points from Dedrick Lawson and Jong-kyu Kim, but they were unable to close the gap from the first quarter.
Undeterred, DB finally evened the score in the third quarter. Dedrick Lawson picked up where he left off in the second quarter, scoring a game-high 15 points in the third quarter to tie the game at 67-67.
The final quarter was a run-and-gun affair. Ham Ji-hoon and Gage Prim scored back-to-back baskets to take the lead. However, with 8:53 left in the game, Choi Seung-wook, assisted by Dedrick Lawson, split the rim with a three-point shot.
The game then went back and forth until Dedrick Lawson tied the game again with a three-pointer with 7:01 left in regulation.
With 6:13 left in the game, Dedrick Lawson made a two-point shot to take the lead, and then DB made another two-point shot to take a four-point lead.
Hyundai Mobis' Kebe Aluma made a two-point shot, but DB's Park In-woong made a three-point shot to further widen the gap.
Then, with 2:10 left in the game, Lee Sun Albano scored a three-pointer, effectively driving a wedge into the game, and DB continued their undefeated record after opening with a come-from-behind victory.
Then, at 4 p.m. in Daegu Gymnasium, Jung Kwan-jang defeated Korea Gas Corporation 91-80 to record their third win of the season.
Kwanjang never relinquished the lead early in the game and secured the victory away from home. KOGAS made a strong comeback in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
For Kwanjang, Choi Sung-won led the way with 20 points, one assist, and four rebounds. His free throw percentage of 100% (4 attempts) was particularly impressive. Duvan Maxwell and Darryl Monroe added 14 points apiece.
For KOG, Andrew Nicholson struggled with 26 points but couldn't lead his team out of the bottom of the standings. 토토사이트
