The Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) held a reward and punishment committee for referee A's violation of the referee's service posture and prohibitions in the league's conference room this morning (24th).
After receiving a report on referee A's recent request for money borrowing, the Federation conducted a full investigation of all 14 clubs and referees on this matter. As a result, it was confirmed that referee A asked two club officials to borrow money.
The Federation held a reward and punishment committee to determine the circumstances of the case and whether the standards for imposing disciplinary and sanctions were applied so that appropriate measures could be taken. As a result of listening to the statement and explanation of referee A in the above case, referee A admitted to requesting money from club officials and referees and informal contact with club officials during the season.
The reward and punishment committee judged that it was a serious act that could undermine the fairness of the professional league for the referee to informally contact a club official and request a loan of money.
The decision to impose strict sanctions to prevent similar violations from happening again, Article 12 (service posture) (3) of the Korean Volleyball Federation's referee regulations, Article 3 (maintenance of dignity), Article 4 (prohibited matters) and sanctions, and penalty imposition standards (general) 11. In accordance with the 5 violations of prohibitions by the Federation and its members (other acts that impair dignity), the A judge was unanimously punished with the expulsion.
In addition, the reward and punishment committee urged the federation to make every effort to manage and operate more thoroughly.
