A golf competition for the first time in four years has been held

Instead of baseball stadiums, they gather at golf courses to build harmony and friendship.

"There is no team better than today's event. The stage is where all baseball players become one through golf. It is a venue for a festival where people celebrate each other's hard work after fierce competition.

The 40th Korea Baseball Organization, co-hosted by the Korea Baseball Organization and sponsored by the LG Twins, the winner of the Korean Series, will take place at the H1 Club in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province on Tuesday. The event will be held in a shotgun format, with simultaneous departures for all holes from 10 a.m.

The golf competition for baseball players has been held every year since 1982, the first year of professional baseball.

It is the only event where professional baseball players gather during off-season. This year, 116 people including front desk managers, coaches, players and KBO executives will participate to open a venue for harmony on the field.

The adventurers' instinct transcends time and place. This year, it is expected that a winner will be awarded with honor.

Expectations were higher because last year's competition, which was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak and resumed after three years, was canceled due to snow.

The winning team, LG Twins manager Yeom Kyung-yeop, will have fierce competition with KT Wiz manager Lee Kang-chul, Lotte Giants manager Kim Tae-hyung, and Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop in the same group. They are expected to have a showdown with shots that show no concessions.

SSG Landers Lee Sung-yong, Kiwoom Heroes' Hong Won-ki, Hanwha Eagles' Choi Won-ho, and Samsung Lions' Park Jin-man, who shared a room with the Hyundai Unicorns, will compete in a friendly shot in a group.

KIA Tigers coach Kim Jong-kook and NC Dinos coach Kang In-kwon will have a place of unity with their team coaches, respectively.

Ryu Joong-il, who served as the head coach of the Hangzhou Asian Games and APBC national team, plays in the same group with LG Twins' Seo Yong-bin, LG Twins' Futures team coach Park Kyung-wan, and LG Legend-born commentator Park Yong-taek.

KT Wiz's chief coach Kim Tae-kyun and Jang Dong-cheol, secretary-general of the Professional Baseball Players Association, will attend a large number of baseball golf masters, including coaching staff from each club, to aim for the championship and the pride of long-distance players.

Kim Min-sung, Heo Do-hwan, Park Dong-won, and Choi Won-tae, who won LG's first championship in 29 years, will form a group to compete in shots.

After the competition, various awards are prepared, including wins, medalists (lowest hits), runner-up, third-place, longists, nearists, and lucky awards.

To ensure fairness, the new perio method is applied, in which handicaps are imposed on 12 hidden holes to rank them. Handicaps are automatically applied according to one's ability and awarded according to the adjusted score.
