Defender Kim Tae-hwan (Ulsan), the eldest member of the national soccer team led by coach Jurgen Klinsmann, participated in convocation training for the October A match held at the Paju National Team Training Center (NFC) on the afternoon of the 11th.

He said this when he met with reporters earlier.

The national team will play a friendly match with Tunisia at the Seoul World Cup Stadium at 8 p.m. on the 13th, and then face Vietnam at Suwon World Cup Stadium four days later at 8 p.m. on the 17th.

Kim Tae-hwan, born in 1989, is the oldest player on the national team playing the A match this October.

He is the same age as the ‘youngest’ Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), born in 2001, who returned after winning a gold medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

He said, "Rather than the Asian Cup to be held next year, my goal is to join the next call-up immediately.

If I am called up to the national team every time, I will naturally be able to participate in the Asian Cup," and pledged, "I will take good care of my body."

Kim Tae-hwan entered the NFC on the 9th, the first day of this convocation training, and stamped his presence in front of fans with an 'all black overfit' suit fashion.

Regarding this, Kim Tae-hwan said, "The national team is the place I want to come to the most and is the most important place.

I think it shows my attitude toward it in my own way," and explained, "I came dressed in the clothes I thought were the coolest according to the season."

He then said with a bitter smile, “There was no mention of my juniors at all,” making the reporters burst into laughter.
