A petition for national consent has emerged to dismiss coach Jurgen Klinsmann, the head coach of the Korean national soccer team, who failed to regain the top spot for the first time in 64 years after being eliminated in the semifinals at the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.

On the National Assembly's petition site, a petition was posted on the 9th, titled "A petition on the replacement of Coach Klinsmann, who surprised Asia with 'Lung Soccer', 'Do It Soccer', and 'Bystand Soccer'.

The author said he is a member of the "Red Devil" and a referee from the Korea Football Association and strongly petitioned for the replacement of Klinsmann, the mastermind who has made South Korea a mockery of Asian countries with its worst performance, including 11 points and 10 runs in six Asian Cup games.

The writer expressed anger, saying that Klinsmann consistently vowed to win the Asian Cup, but after a series of poor matches in the group stage and a series of extra-time matches, he managed to advance to the semifinals and was eliminated with a disastrous 0-2 loss against Jordan.

Klinsmann was sluggish in his first five matches since taking charge of the national team in March last year, with three draws and two losses. Since then, Klinsmann has had six consecutive warm-up matches against the underdogs since winning the match against Saudi Arabia in September. Then, Klinsmann vowed to win the Asian Cup and asked the team to judge everything based on the results.

At the same time, the writer insisted on Klinsmann, who maintains his own method despite the ongoing controversy over telecommuting and overseas travel, saying, "Because he professed to win the Asian Cup and asked to evaluate it as a result, it should be evaluated coldly."

Referring to the fact that the national team was considered the "golden generation" and "the all-time squad," he also expressed disappointment, saying, "I never thought I would be eliminated by such a vain series of poor matches with far lower-level countries."

If more than 50,000 people agree within 30 days from the date of disclosure, the petition will be referred to the National Assembly's standing committee, and if adopted during the review, it will be presented to the National Assembly's plenary session.
