The Korean Team for the Winter Depic Games Departs for Turkye Erzurum

The Korean athletes participating in the 2023 Erzurum Winter Deaflympics (Deaflympics) left for the final battle site, Turkye Erzurum, late in the afternoon of the 27th.

Before departure, the team held a launch ceremony at Incheon International Airport.

A total of 100 people, including Secretary-General of the Korea Sports Association for the Disabled Yang Chung-yeon, athlete team leader Woo Su-min, and executives and employees of the athletes and affiliated sports organizations, attended the launch ceremony.

Secretary General Yang Chung-yeon said, "Please be careful of minor injuries and try to maintain your best condition. 카지노사이트킹

We will cheer and support you until the day you return home safely."

Team leader Woo Soo-min said, "I expect that we will be able to achieve the results we want based on the sweat and effort we have put in so far," and added, "We will do our best to achieve results that surpass those of the 2019 Games, when we won a medal for the first time at the Winter Games."

The Deaflympics is the largest international all-around competition for hearing-impaired athletes and, like the Olympics, is held every four years.

This competition was scheduled to be held last year, but was postponed for a year due to circumstances of the venue, and the official name was set as '2023 Erzurum Competition'.

Korea dispatched a team of 52 athletes (18 athletes, 13 competition officials, and 21 Deaf Federation members) in four sports to the competition held from March 2nd to 12th.

This is the third time that Korea has participated in the Winter Games, following the 2015 Khanty-Mansiysk and 2019 Valtellina and Balchiavenna competitions.
