The Korea Sports Promotion Agency helps cancer survivors return to a healthy society

The Korea Sports Promotion Agency's National Fitness 100 KSPO Gwangju Physical Fitness Certification Center has decided to cooperate with the Gwangju Jeonnam Cancer Survivor Integrated Support Center hereinafter referred to as the Gwangju Jeonnam Cancer Survivor Center with exercise programs and integrated support services to improve the health and physical strength of cancer survivors.

The KSPO Gwangju Physical Fitness Certification Center will support customized exercise programs after measuring physical strength for cancer survivors, and the Gwangju Jeonnam Cancer Survivor Center will provide integrated support services such as education and counseling to help with the aftereffects of cancer treatment, complications, and various psychological problems.

The exercise program for cancer survivors provides customized exercise classes for 8 weeks three times a week, 60 minutes along with pre- and post-physical fitness measurements to check changes in fitness factors and obesity-related health indicators and anxiety and depression indices.

In addition, efforts are being made to expand the scope of participation by holding a daily special lecture once a month for cancer survivors who have difficulty participating regularly.
