This is the third terrible performance this year alone. Park Ji-won is eliminated from the semifinals

The Korea Skating Union held the first short track national short track competition for the 2024-2025 season at the Mokdong Indoor Ice Rink from the 5th.

On the second day, a very coincidental scene appeared in the men's 500m semi-final match held on the 6th. Park Ji-won and Hwang Dae-heon were placed in the second group of semi-finals.

In the first lap, the two players collided during the race. Hwang Dae-heon contacted Park Ji-won while digging into the in-course. Park Ji-won was greatly out of balance and pushed to the fence. Park Ji-won crossed the finish line at the bottom of Group 2 of the semifinals. Hwang Dae-heon advanced to the final in second place.

"It was regarded as a normal play," said an official from the Korea Skating Union. However, Hwang only ranked fifth in the final.

In the first competition, the top 24 players will be selected by combining the points of 500-meter, 1,000-meter, and 1,500-meter rankings. The 24 players who passed the first competition will undergo the second competition from Friday to Sunday. The men's team will select eight players.

Park Ji-won is very unlikely to be eliminated in the first round because she finished second in the 1,500m earlier.

Park Ji-won and Hwang Dae-heon have drawn attention by colliding in the 1,500-meter and 1,000-meter finals at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in the Netherlands in March.

In October last year, Hwang Dae-heon was disqualified after receiving a yellow card (YC) for pushing Park Ji-won in the second race of men's 1,000m at the first World Cup tournament in Montreal, Canada.

As a result, Hwang was embroiled in a controversy over his team's killing. The Korea Skating Union eventually conducted its own investigation.

The Korea Skating Union (KAF) conducted an investigation on the collision between Park Ji-won (Seoul Metropolitan Government) and Hwang Dae-heon that took place in the men's 1,500-meter and 1,000-meter finals at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships from April 16 to 17. They had no intention and had no intention to "team kill."

However, less than a month later, a similar scene appeared in the national team selection match.
