Japanese female professional wrestler Marika Kobashi said on her X

A Japanese professional wrestler said, "There is no ambulance in Korea" after being injured while participating in a game in Korea, but eventually apologized.

Japanese female professional wrestler Marika Kobashi said on her X (X, former Twitter) on the 3rd, "I apologize for saying that there are no ambulances in Korea based on misinformation."

Earlier, Kobashi won the title match of the 34th New Korea Professional Wrestling held in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province on March 31. Kobashi was hit in the head during the match, showing symptoms of a suspected concussion, and then slumped down.

He claimed that the organizers did not take appropriate measures in the process. "When I asked for an ambulance, the organizers said, 'There is no ambulance in Korea,'" he told his X on the 1st. "When I asked him to transfer to another vehicle, he said, 'I shouldn't see off customers.'"

"I will never participate in the New Korea Professional Wrestling Championship again. I will also return the championship belt," he added.

In response to Kobashi's claim, local Japanese media criticized Korea's poor safety management system, and netizens criticized it.

As the controversy spread, Yoon Kang-chul, CEO of New Korea Professional Wrestling, refuted on his SNS on the 2nd, saying, "I'm sorry that the inaccurate facts were reported in Japan," adding, "No one said there were no ambulances in Korea."

CEO Yoon said, "We quickly called 119 because we thought it could be more dangerous if Kobashi was moved carelessly," and explained, "Akari, who is fluent in Korean, and HC, a New Korea professional wrestling player, were in the ambulance, and Kobashi took self-camera videos and posted them on social media, which was difficult to understand."

"It's unfortunate that the accident happened, but we should not put a damper on Korea-Japan professional wrestling exchanges with false information," he said. "We will continue to make efforts for exchanges between Korea and Japan at any time. I wish the athlete a speedy return and recovery."

When Yoon refuted his claim, Kobashi made a statement acknowledging his lie. Kobashi told his X that "the remark that there is no ambulance in Korea was delivered by someone, and it is judged that it was not Yoon or an official. I apologize for making the remarks based on misinformation and will correct my remarks."

Regarding the reason for taking the picture in the ambulance, he said, "I took it because I thought I should leave the last evidence of the situation because I was prepared to die in an unknown country," adding, "The two sides are not telling false facts, but there are mixed parts."
