Kazuo Okada Group Acquires 'Violence' Okada Manila: Claims

A statement released on Tuesday on behalf of the operations department of the Philippine casino resort Okada Manila (pictured) said the company's "legitimate board members" were working by individuals on behalf of Mr. Kazuo Okada to "quickly resolve the intrusion and illegal takeover" of the property that day.

"Please confirm that there is no change in leadership and management at Universal Entertainment Inc., Tiger Resorts Asia Inc., Tiger Resorts Entertainment and Leisure Inc. (TRLEI)," the statement released under the latter name added.

Tiger Resort Asia is a privately held company in Hong Kong, TRLEI's direct parent company, and the ultimate parent company is Universal Entertainment, a Japanese conglomerate founded by Okada but ousted in 2017. At the time, he was also ousted from TRLEI's board of directors.

"Kazuo Okada's gang illegally and violently seized the premises in Okada Manila, forcing major lawful officers to leave the building," the press release said on Tuesday.

GGRAsia has approached representatives from Okada's side for comment on the allegations.

A statement in the name of TRLEI used "brutal force" to claim that some of the company's representatives had been removed from the property building.

"In the process, we have also damaged and seriously injured other executives of the company and lawyers present," it added

Mr Okada was ousted from the Universal Entertainment board in June 2017 over fraud charges. He has denied the allegations. Since then, Mr Okada has sought to regain control of Universal Entertainment and its subsidiary, TRLEI.

In early May this year, Okada's side said a recent Philippine court order would "restore the board composition of Tiger Resorts, Leisure and Entertainment Inc. to its original configuration in 2017, before Universal Entertainment and Kazuo Okada's dispute began."

Shortly after, Tiger Resorts said, "The Philippine Supreme Court's order to maintain the status quo, a temporary measure, does not change the ownership structure of TRLEI, nor will it affect our operations."
