The British Columbia Lottery Company has had another successful year in connection with winning the BC State Lottery. In its annual report, the Crown Agency said local lottery players cashed in more than C$820 million in prize money in 2022. BCLC has sold more than 100 million winning tickets throughout 2022 at retail stores or PlayNow Online. This resulted in major wins, such as Jennifer Callone in West Kelowna, which amounted to a C$31 million Lotto Max win. Mr. Cole's winnings begin on July 8, 2022, and remain the province's largest lottery jackpot to date at PlayNow.

The Crown Corporation said in a report that the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions generated the largest portion of the C$822 million winnings, with a C$382.1 million prize among the players. Both regions saw tickets sold totaling CA$45.3 million, 48 of which were considered major winners of CA$500,000 or more.

Meanwhile, Thompson Okanagan Region has collected the second-largest volume of lottery wins since 2022 with a total of C$226.2 million. This translates into C$24.5 million in winning tickets purchased in the region and 18 winners with over C$500,000. Vancouver Island comes next with a total of C$110.8 million, winning tickets of C$17.6 million, and eight grand prize winners.

Then there's the Northern BC region, where more than $58.4 million in prize money and more than $9.3 million in winning tickets have been sold to locals. There were 10 big winners who won more than 500,000 Canadian dollars in prize money. In a recent interview, BCLC CEO and President Pat Davis reflected on the agency's performance in 2022. The leader in his recent position explained that his transition was excellent. He also shared last year that he was happy to be able to participate across the business and meet all employees and multiple service providers.

The CEO also added that despite continued growth in 2022, the company was delighted to see how quickly people adopted online and digital BCLC platforms. He explained that 2022 continued this trend, and the company was even able to build on revenue of C$1.3 billion from last year. Therefore, it provides additional funding for education, healthcare, and the community.
