Cambodia Game Table Biz Resumes Soon: CenturyNT

Game services company Century Entertainment International Holdings Ltd said it expects its bulk game table business in Cambodia to resume as early as the end of the month. The information was included in the company's latest earnings report filed on Monday on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The group had not recorded a profit in the six months to Sept. 30, with its game table business suspended. According to Century Entertainment, this was "mainly attributed to the spread of COVID-19 and the lockdown measures and temporary closures imposed on all casinos in Cambodia."

The company added that its bulk gaming table business aims to "resume operations by the end of November 20, 2022 and begin contributing financially in 2023."

Plans to reopen bulk game table businesses in Cambodia have been delayed several times.

In a recent filing, the company referred to an agreement in 2020 to move game operations from the Sunshine Bay Hotel in Sihanoukville to a location called Dara Sakor in the Coconut province. The company "continues active discussions about the number of game tables to be installed" at its new location, the company said in a Monday filing.

"The validity of the gaming table business right will be five years from the date the public market of the new casino reopens," he added.

Century Entertainment is the remnant of Amax International Holdings Inc., which once enjoyed its heyday during the first decade of the century as a brand related to Macau's largest gambling junket business.

The company is chaired by Macao veteran junket operator Ng Man Sun.
