Big slot jackpot win at Idaho casino

One lucky winner managed to walk home on Monday for an additional $112,000 at the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel.

Brian and his wife were betting pennies for $5 per episode around 10 p.m. when it happened.

"I couldn't believe it. It was pure shock. My wife was sitting next to me and she was screaming," said Brian, who won the jackpot. "I've won a few jackpots over the years, but nothing like this. We didn't sleep that night and kept thinking, 'This can't be real, what can we do?'"

The couple said they live about 50 miles from the Coeur d'Alene casino and have been out about once a week in the last two years.

"It was exciting and fun, and incredible to win this big," said Brian. "We enjoy coming out and love the red tail bars and grills. We can't wait to hit this jackpot again!"

The winner was playing Arabistat's Caribbean Gold Dollar Storm machine. According to Arabistat's website, Caribbean Gold showcases the latest gaming mechanisms and features five levels of jackpots and incremental jackpots that include bonuses.

"We love to see our players win big!" said Holly Hawthorn, director of video games at the Coeur d'Alene Casino. "Last year, we saw five players win a six-figure jackpot."

With this weekend's $80,000 baking giveaway, players still have plenty of chances to win. On Fridays and Saturdays, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., 40 lucky winners will leave with $1,000 each. Winners will go around a pie-shaped prize wheel to receive a bonus Extra Play Cash award between $50 and $150.
