NCPG announces Spring 2023 Agility Grant winners

The winners of the Spring 2023 Agility Grant programme have been announced by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). Five charities will receive a combined $193,000 in funding to promote problem gambling prevention initiatives.

Agility Grant, NCPG's core project, funds nonprofit organizations to support initiatives to reduce problem gambling. These awards aim to support promising initiatives in the current programme, as well as to bridge the gap for areas that currently do not have such services. More than $1 million will be paid to launch and grow problem gambling prevention initiatives across the country over a three-year period under the Agility Grant program.

Keith Wyatt, executive director of NCPG, said: "Prevention is the most cost-effective and common-sense way to mitigate gambling-related damage. This Agility Grant round-supported prevention program demonstrates an innovative model designed to reach priorities and raise new voices within the problem gambling prevention community. We proudly support these initiatives and hope to become a model for future preventive efforts." Claire Graff, NFL's vice president of social responsibility, said, "We are proud to support the innovative work that the NCPG is doing through their Agility Grant program to address problem gambling in a variety of ways. "This funding of Agility Grant through the NFL Foundation will provide important resources for nonprofit organizations across the country that are at the forefront of problem gambling prevention." In the spring of 2023, Agility Grant funding will support the Hispanic City Minority Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Outreach Program (UMADAOP), the National Union on Mental Illness – the Maryland Branch (NAMI-MD), and the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling. There are two funding rounds in which Agility Grant is awarded annually.
