Your midtone lines of shading appear to end rather abruptly at the right-hand side and may not blend smoothly. Even allowing for scanners dropping the lightest tone, those ends should have been feathered more so they will blend seamlessly into the white right-hand end.

I can clearly see a set of steps here but if your shading was light and on the surface you may be able to successfully blend them away.

Your lines of shading properly follow the contours of the cylinder, so any that remain visible after blending will read as surface texture. The vertical black shading at the left-hand side lightens well and is consistently and smoothly applied, but do try to avoid leaving gaps. There's a chance that one or more of those isolated lines may still be visible after blending. Also, it could have been darker at the extreme left-hand edge but it should do its job as it is. Establishing a stronger dark tone at the left hand edge would have boosted the brightness of the highlighted right-hand side.
