Oh, I totally understand your situation! I also had a mini Golden Retriever, and during the first few days he was constantly hiding under the table, scared of new sounds and people. I noticed that he just needed time and some “small victories” – quiet games, treats, and lots of calm interaction. Sometimes I even took him on walks to neighbors’ houses so he could get used to other people, but without any pressure.
