MO105 What is Expressionism?

With Judith Campanaro

5 weeks   Open 3

The Miriam-Webster Dictionary describes it as "a theory or practice in art of seeking to depict the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse in the artist". In this class we will discuss that definition and delve deeper into the concept of the movement that seems to be different from all other directions. We will explore the lives and work of five great expressionist masters and study their visions, lives and views. Although each artist may bring something different to the table it is my hope that this will establish a relationship between you as the student and a personal understanding of a very personal form of art.
