Mellotex is no longer available - the manufacturers were closed by their parent company last December. I still have about 40 sheets in stock in my online shop but that's all there is. We found an almost exact replacement in Conqueror Diamond White, which is an even brighter white. That's also available from my shop - size is about 18" x 24". You can buy Conqueror Diamond White in the States quite easily and in viable small quantities. You will probably find A4 and A3 sizes on eBay or Amazon. If you need the larger A2 sheets I suggest you buy it from me unless you want to buy 1-200 sheets at a time. Like Mellotex, Conqueror Diamond White (in SRA2 size) is a commercial printing paper, so it comes in large packs, or even palettes. I stock and use the 250gsm weight but it is available in heavier weights too.
I've used Strathmore 300 and it felt smooth but wasn't nearly as smooth as Mellotex. My lovely glossy leaves looked like velvet due to the paper's texture :o)
